Hello, I was interested in having a dinner with an Amish family during my upcoming visit there. I'm wondering how you found this family and got in touch with them to make arrangements. Could you email me please? Much thanks!

Wow you really do have a whole lot you can do in your classroom based on what we learned this day. How fun it must be to be a member of your class. I especially like what you found out and asked about some of their hlidy traditions I know when I taugth World History I would talk about how Christmas is celebrated througout the world, isn't it interesting to see how different it is celebrated even jsut in different regions, and with the difrrent peopls of our own country.

Wasn't it a wonderful experience, Marie? I worry about the future of these people because of the fact that they do have to get involved in other jobs to sustain themselves. The whole philosophy behind their beliefs is to maintain a simple, wholesome, worry-free life. I can't imagine the stress involved in feeding 35 to 90 people in my home and having my family and my life being on public display. Sometimes it doesn't quite make sense to me.
